You might be leaving the stress of our always-on society behind when you stay at Hunter House Farm but you won't be stuck for things to do.

Enjoy a notification-free stay when you're here with us; our home is in a mobile network black spot so you can fully unwind without the beeps of your phone distracting you from some serious rest and relaxation.

In the meantime you can fill your days with relaxing wanders along the Pennine Way, horse riding, angling and sailing on Grassholme reservoir operated by Northumbrian Water which is within walking distance of the farm where you can buy licenses to fish some of the finest quality brown trout in the land between March and November.  You'll often find other guests out for a stroll, or a jog along the tracks circling the water.

For the more adventurous amongst you there's plenty within a short car journey of Hunter House Farm.  History fans can soak in the majesty of Barnard Castle, or visit the romantic ruins of Egglestone Abbey.  Just 30 minutes from our front door is the stunning Raby Castle, the seat of Lord Barnard, and boasting amongst the finest art collections, period interior designs and architecture set amongst 200 acres of North-East England's rolling dales.

Teasdale also boast the magnificent High Force Waterfall which boasts the record-breaking largest volume of water over a single drop in the UK; truly a sight (and sound!) to behold.

You can break up the country life with a visit to the North East's unique open-air Beamish Museum - a fun family day out in a snapshot of Northern life at the turn of the 20th Century.

Set in 2000 hectares a visit to Hamsterley Forest  has no shortage of options when it comes to forest adventure, mountain biking, horse riding along the miles of waymarked trails or a tranquil stroll there is something for everybody.

If you're after something more sedentary there's plenty of wildlife to see, whether that's our own horses, dogs and chickens or the wildlife on the moors.  If you like bird watching and are up early enough you might even catch sight of Barney, our resident owl swooping silently but majestically across our fields in search of his dinner!

You might be far from home but you'll never be short of something to keep you occupied!
